RE/MAX FAQ

"Don't I have to pay to work at REMAX?"

Not necessarily! Our 95% commission plan works in one of two ways; you can either elect to pay your program fees up front on a monthly basis, or you can take advantage of our RAPP Program (REMAX Alternative Payment Plan), in which you pay NO upfront costs, work on a "split", and your fees are credited to your account from the company portion of each transaction you close. As soon as you close enough sales for your fees to be paid (usually within the first 3-4 months of the year), the rest of your closings are paid at 95%...absolutely no risk to you!

Of course, at RE/MAX Signature, we also have a very competitive conventional commission split plan, with incentives as high as 80%. You may convert to a 95% plan at any time you choose.

Keep in mind, you are  "paying" to work at your current company...for example, if you closed $100,000 in gross commissions last year, and you were at a 60% split, you "paid" your company $40,000.00...the only difference at RE/MAX is that you pay a flat program fee which is far lower, and that fee remains fixed, no matter how high your earnings go!

"Do I have to pay for copies, faxes and phones at RE/MAX?"

No. While some RE/MAX companies do bill their agents separately for phone usage, copies, faxes, lawn sign installation and listing materials, RE/MAX Signature does not. Whether you are on a 95% plan or on a conventional split with us, all of your day-to-day office supplies and usage are included.

"Do I have to sign a contract to work at RE/MAX?"

Not necessarily. If you are working on a conventional split, you are only responsible to sign an Independent Contractor Agreement, as with any other company. If you are on a 95% Plan, there is a one-year agreement designed for your protection as well as the company's, however, the agreement does not bind you to stay at RE/MAX for any length of time.

"I heard that agents on the 95% Plan don't get any leads..."

Not true! At RE/MAX Signature, our brokers are non-competing. All buyer and seller leads are rotated fairly and equally among all agents, regardless of whether or not they are on a 95% Commission Plan.

"Am I completely on my own at RE/MAX?"

Only if you choose to be! At RE/MAX Signature, we've worked very hard to cultivate a team-oriented environment, and our broker/managers are always available to help you with your day-to-day business, as well as providing you with ongoing personal coaching to help you reach the next level.

"Don't RE/MAX Owners actively list and sell?"

Not at RE/MAX Signature. We are unique among Long Island RE/MAX companies in that our broker/managers do not actively list and sell. All leads and referrals go directly to our agents.

"Do I have to pay for my advertising at RE/MAX?"

If you are on a 95% Plan, you would of course be responsible to pay for your ads. However, unlike many companies, we do not make a profit on the ad spots that we provide to our agents. Agents only pay for the actual cost of the spot(s). If you are on a conventional commission plan, you are not responsible to pay for your homes to be advertised, but any calls coming in on company-paid ads are rotated through all agents in the office. In all cases, we provide you with ready-made slicks and layouts, and will place your ad on your behalf. We make it easy!

"Are there any referral fees on reciprocity (MLS) internet leads?"

No!

"Will I get any broker-to-broker referrals at RE/MAX?"

Yes! Our exclusive "Web Roster" placement service makes it easy. Just select a town, state, or country, enter in any additional criteria (i.e. agent's production level, award level, languages spoken, hobbies, etc.), and you will immediately see a list of agents who meet your criteria. You can then either call the agent, or simply place the referral via a simple online form.

And, unlike many companies, RE/MAX does not take a "cut" of your referral fee...you are free to negotiate whatever fee is agreeable, and it's all yours!

"Do I get a personal website at RE/MAX?"

Every agent gets a personal website, with a fully personalized banner, automatic real-time uploads of listing and open house information, biographical information, and a built-in MLS feed! The cost is only $30.00/month (a bargain, when you consider that, if you bought your own

site the cost of an MLS feed alone is $32.95 per month!). You can also upgrade to a premium site, which enables you to maintain a private database of buyers and sellers, and also enables you to send out e mail or hard copy drip mail campaigns directly from your site, instead of going to an outside direct mail vendor!
